At Ashford Premium Finishes, we do not believe in rushed or overstretched production schedules or taking shortcuts in proper surface preparation work. Led and executed by master craftsman painter John Fitzgibbon, our unique single-artisan approach ensures that every surface is treated as a unique piece of architectural design element.

The Level 5 Surface Standard

The secret to any elite painting finish lies entirely in the extensive preparation and set-up work. Before a single drop of premium finish coatings touch your walls, we execute a rigorous, multi-step surface-prep process.

• Drywall Smoothing: Comprehensive skim-coating, repairs and micro-sanding to achieve a true level 5 finish - essential for eliminating shadows under sharp natural light, especially in premier residential high-rise towers.

• Methodical Dust Containment: We utilize advanced, HEPA-Vacuum equipped sanding systems to trap airborne dust at the very source, ensuring that your homes comfort, air quality, and furnishings remain pristine.

• Architectural Realignment: Deep lasting professional repair of historic plaster settlement, micro-cracks, trim issues, and surface imperfections common in historic Back Bay and Beacon Hill brownstones.

Premium Architectural Coating Systems

We work exclusively within the ultra premium Benjamin Moore ecosystem. We do not work with standard commercial or big box retail paint products. We recommend these proven systems from tested long term on site field experience and because they truly deliver unparalleled aesthetic depth and real world longevity.

• Benjamin Moore Aura: (Walls & Ceilings): Specified for main living spaces and master suites, especially on showcase deep colored accent walls. Aura utilizes advanced color lock technology to deliver an incredible rich, light-refracting matte finish with unmatched depth of color and superior washability.

• Benjamin Moore Regal Select: (High-Performance Interior): A timeless, user-friendly premium standard that offers a smooth, beautiful finish with excellent durability for active residential and commercial environments.

• Benjamin Moore Scruff-X (Trim, Doors, & Built-ins): An incredibly tough, chip-resistant latex formula originally engineered for high traffic environments. We usually apply Scruff-X to busy, high-traffic zones and also on baseboards, detailed crown molding, and custom cabinetry where scruff resistance from pets, luggage or moving furniture is a priority.
